Staff - Andrew Carre

Andrew Carre’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Engineering (mechanical) from MonashUniversity. He is currently undertaking his Masters in Engineering at RMIT, specialising in sustainable energy systems.

A longstanding interest in the economics of engineering has led to a broad work experience in the manufacturing sector both within Australia and in the U.S.A. Andrew has worked both in engineering development and corporate finance. Within the finance discipline he has developed and assessed capital projects, been responsible for company valuations, implemented joint venture restructuring projects, and most recently has managed the financial activities of a large, Melbourne based, manufacturing facility.

The sustainability challenges facing Australia have motivated Andrew to undertake his postgraduate studies and to develop his understanding of Life Cycle Analysis. By using tools such as LCA, he believes Australia’s manufacturing sector has the opportunity to reduce its environmental impacts and in doing so open up new sources of global competitive advantage. Tools such as LCA also make plain the significant role that Australia’s energy systems play in driving environmental impacts, hence his interest in developing and implementing sustainable energy solutions.
